Of all the features of the face, the eyes are arguably the most important when it comes to enhancing beauty. Amazing brows and lashes can work wonders at enhancing the eyes to add impact, balance and a more youthful appearance.

Conversely, bad brows have a way of detracting from facial highlights and grabbing attention for all the wrong reasons.

Luckily, brows and lashes are two things we do have control over!

Our team are absolute perfectionists and will ensure that whatever level your current brow / lash game is at, you will walk out of the Lure clinic looking and feeling amazing!

What is PMU (Permanent Make Up)?

There are several semi-permanent cosmetic techniques that have revolutionised what is possible in the beauty industry. Fundamentally, all semi-permanent cosmetic makeup techniques involve applying pigment into the skin to achieve a long lasting makeup effect.

Lure specialises in a range of semi-permanent cosmetic makeup techniques, each technique creates a different effect when applied. From manual techniques like microblading (where results look supremely natural), to machine techniques like Ombre and Full Powdered Brows (which give the effect of makeup), to a mix of both – Combination Brows. Each technique is highly specialised, and achieving the desired results rely on a range of factors including: The skill of the technician, the quality of the equipment used, the quality of the pigments, and the unique skin and lifestyle factors of each client.

Lure is the industry leader in the full spectrum of techniques with expertly trained and accredited technicians, state of the art equipment, and the highest quality natural pigments. If you’re serious about high quality semi-permanent cosmetic makeup, there is no-one better in the industry than Lure.

What is micro-blading?

Micro-blading is the amazing semi-permanent cosmetic technique that has reinvented what is possible in the beauty industry. Micro-blading, also known as feathertouch brow reconstruction, is the most natural and effective way to ensure beautifully symmetric, semi-permanent eyebrows. Unlike the sometimes sharpie-esque effects of permanent makeup, micro-blading is an embroidery of trompe l’oeil strokes that look just like real hairs.

Who should consider PMU treatments?

Semi-permanent makeup is perfect for anyone who wants to define and enhance their features – particularly lash lines and eyebrows.

We have several brow techniques that are perfect for anyone who wants to cover gaps, fully reconstruct, or fill-in over plucked brows, or anyone who simply wants to do away with their tedious daily brow ritual by treating themselves to a semi-permanent solution.

We specialise in delicate, subtle lash line enhancements to add a gentle elegance to any lash line.

If you’re not satisfied with the state of your brows or lash lines, or you simply want to enhance your current look, semi-permanent makeup is perfect.

How is PMU performed?

Unlike other companies, Lure always performs treatments using disposable sterile tools, and using pigments produced in accordance with the highest standards.

With your input, Lure’s technician will design and mark out the perfect set of brows, or discuss with you the perfect lash line enhancement to compliment your unique facial features. Once you’re satisfied with the design the technician will get to work.

For microblading, tiny hair strokes are cut into the skin in the direction of the natural hairs’. Pigment is matched to your unique skin and hair tones and applied to the blade strokes during the treatment to give the strokes the effect of real hair.

For machine techniques, your technician will use Lure’s state of the art, German made, Nu Pearl cosmetic makeup machine with the correct nano heads to achieve the result you desire.

Does it hurt?

There’s nothing to worry about. Lure uses the most advanced numbing creams and topical anesthetics available and has the most highly trained cosmetic artists to ensure minimal discomfort. Many describe the feeling of microblading as a little scratchy, and the machine techniques as the sense of vibration, but say it’s not as painful as having your eyebrows tweezed.

How do we create the right shape brow for your face?

Unlike other companies who have a “cookie cutter” approach to eyebrows, Lure understands that each client is unique and has a different vision for their ideal brows.

During the initial consultation, Lure’s brow technician will discuss the type of brow that appeals to you and understand your needs – this includes all aspects of the shape, and the desired look (from natural to powdered). We then measure, balance and outline the design before tidying any stray hair to ensure we share the vision for your new brows before we start your treatment. Symmetry of the eyebrows is calculated using the golden intersection and face morphology to achieve a perfect result.

What is pigment and what part does it play in the process?

Pigments are hugely important as they are the colour that is applied into the hair stokes in the skin. Lure technicians are extensively trained in identifying which pigments are suitable for each unique skin type to ensure the colour match is perfect and will deliver beautifully natural results.

Lure uses only premium, naturally occurring, metallic pigments sourced from leading global laboratories. Lure’s pigments are insoluble which means they won’t bleed under the skin, won’t change tone, and fade naturally over time. As pigment is so important to the quality of the result, Lure has spent hundreds of hours researching and sourcing the highest quality pigments so you can rest assured that all products used on your skin are the best in the business.

What do I need to know before treatment?

What do I need to know before treatment?
The following are not recommended 30 days before the treatment:
⦁ botox and fillers
⦁ laser treatments
⦁ chemical peelings
⦁ exposure to strong sunlight
The following are not recommended 24 hours prior to treatment:
⦁ alcohol
⦁ coffee
⦁ blood thinners (aspirin or any other medication with a thinning effect)

Is there anything I need to be aware of that may affect my results?

Lure aims for perfection with every set of brows we create, however, there are some factors outside of our control that can affect the success of the treatment:
⦁ skin quality and oiliness
⦁ Age
⦁ post-treatment care
⦁ exposure to different external factors
We will ensure you are fully aware of any potential issues during consultation prior to treatment, and we will provide you with the knowledge and best after care advice possible, however, ultimately these factors are out of our control, so any possibility to provide guarantees for the treatment is excluded.
During your consultation prior to treatment, always discuss if you:
⦁ have problematic skin
⦁ have any health problems
⦁ take any medication
⦁ have existing old permanent make-up on your eyebrows
Your technician will always recommend the technique that will allow the best results for your unique skin type.
Please note:
*Microblading alone is not suitable for clients over 45 years old, or those with particularly oily skin. Machine techniques will always be recommended to these clients.
*For all Semi-permanent makeup treatments, a minimum of two full treatments are required to achieve truly beautiful results. For some skin types additional treatments may be required.

Post-treatment

How long will it take to heal?

Healing should be fully completed after 28 days. At any time after 6 weeks it is recommended that you return for a second treatment for the addition of the pigment that has been lost during the healing process. It is to be expected that around 25% of drawn strokes disappear after the first treatment. With problematic and oily skins, this may increase and additional treatments may be required.

What do I need to know about post-treatment care?

Post-treatment care is vital and contributes to about 70% of the treatment’s success. You should understand the post-treatment care requirements before leaving your first treatment and ensure you follow it completely. Failure to follow the post-treatment regime will adversely affect your results.

What will I look like after treatment?

Immediately after treatment you may experience slight redness and swelling to the treatment area. During the first 5 to 7 days the colour may appear extremely dark. During the first 7 days the colour will lose 40 to 50% of its intensity.

How long will my results last?

Colour duration primarily depends on how oily the skin is. The oilier the skin, the shorter the colour lasts. Sweating and sun exposure also reduce colour fastness.
On average, expected time until a new colour refreshment is 12 months. However, treatment has been known to last up to 3 years without needing a touch up. With oily skin, it is up to 6 months.

How do I know which treatment is right for me?

Lure offers a FREE 15 minute consultation for those unsure which treatment is right for them – this can ONLY be booked by calling 09 525 7894 or emailing contact@lureprofessional.com. Alternatively, our technicians are happy to discuss all of the treatment options over the phone.

If you know you want to get started ASAP but are not 100% sure of the most suitable treatment, a full consultation is completed immediately prior to your first treatment to ensure you and your technician are both on the same page regarding what YOUR perfect results should look like!
